Yacht Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Program Instructor – FL


The Yacht Service Technician Apprenticeship Program is seeking an Instructor to teach our next generation of marine industry workers. Our goal is to invest in and develop the next generation workforce and help the industry meet current and future employment needs. In our third year, this two-year program gives apprentices the foundation skills to jump-start their careers by learning skills such as safety, plumbing, hydraulics, lifting and rigging, basic electrical , employability in the workplace, welding and fabrication, carpentry, painting and general. maintenance.

Location: Atlantic Technical College, 4700 Coconut Creek Parkway Coconut Creek, Florida 33063. (Marine Industries Association of South Florida 221 SW 3rd Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312)

Qualifications: Must be eligible for a Broward District Teacher’s Certificate in Shipyard/Mega Yacht Service Technician. Documented knowledge and skills as a shipyard/mega-yacht maintenance technician in the areas of rigging, piping/plumbing, welding/fabrication, carpentry and painting, general maintenance and verification of industry certifications/credentials held.

  • Be able to document six (6) years of full-time experience (40 hours per week) performing the skills and activities of this occupation with at least one (1) year of full-time experience in the trade within the last five (5) years (Recency). Submit a work experience verification form to each employer you have worked for. Self-employment or experience in a family business must be verified by the accountant or lawyer who verifies the type of business and the services provided by the company. Verification forms must be notarized.
  • Be able to provide proof that you have a high school diploma or GED.

Full-time: 40 hours per week, 50 weeks per year according to the schedule approved by the Broward County School Board. (Part-time option, evenings only available but full-time preferred).
