Virgin Voyages begins cruises from Miami, Florida with Scarlet Lady

Whether this is an unlucky turn of events or simply making guests wait longer for something extraordinary is not entirely clear, but after nearly 20 months of delay, Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet lady is leaving Miami today.

The ship was only weeks away from its debut in March of last year when the pandemic hit, so was the wait worth it?

Virgin wouldn’t be Virgin if it weren’t for something special in the plans for the very first cruise from Miami onboard Scarlet lady. In fact, today’s trip is the very first cruise on the ship that is unrestricted and unqualified as a preview trip. The ship will have a wide variety of cruises available in the coming months. Four-night Bahamian cruises, dubbed “Fire & Sunset Evenings,” will stop in Nassau, followed by the Beach Club in Bimini, a signature event that includes restorative yoga classes in the morning, lounging poolside in a cabana. private, sunset campfires and a DJ-led flotillas.

Scarlet lady

If you are planning to take a cruise on board, you will need to take certain precautions. All guests and crew on board Scarlet lady must be fully vaccinated without exemption. As the ship is for adults only, children are not allowed on board.

In addition to the vaccination requirement, all passengers must undergo a COVID-19 test before boarding, which the cruise line will cover.

Virgin Voyages aims to provide the safest travel experience possible for its customers, including additional disinfection, physical distancing, limited occupancy, and adherence to local government guidelines in each destination the cruise line sails to.

Scarlet lady was built by shipbuilders Fincantieri in Italy and completed on February 13, 2020. The 110,000 gross ton cruise ship can accommodate 2,770 passengers and 1,160 crew.

Three sisterships are planned, one of which is crisscrossing the Mediterranean this summer, Valiant lady. A third ship, Resilient Lady, is expected to be completed in August 2022 and the fourth ship will arrive in 2023.
