Kinsale is the most southerly point on the Wild Atlantic Way and yesterday’s conditions outside this West Cork port lived up to expectations in race three of the Axiom Private Clients series of the Kinsale Yacht Club.
Rough seas and a force 4/5 easterly wind gave KYC Race Officers the opportunity to lay a weather mark near the Sovereign Islands, followed by a race around the existing marks in the Fore Harbor to reach the finish off Charles Fort.
It was a lackluster day that brightened up halfway through the race.
