Who among us wouldn’t cry out for joy as we found the keys to a brand new waterfront home in our stockings on Christmas morning? Some of you have a really big gesture in mind for the family, and the gift of a new home is one that will continue to give more than any other. A new home will be a gift your family will never expect. Just let them guess to create some suspense.
Obviously, this will take a bit of advanced basic work. You need to be sure that the house will be the one that all the makers will really like. You might have attended open houses over the years, maybe even just for fun and made mental notes on preferred quarters, size, layout, finishes, and of course my preferred is the color of the front door.
You are about to achieve the ultimate Christmas surprise and of course you will need the help of a real estate agent and a lawyer, so make sure they know not to leave messages; you are preparing for the surprise of a lifetime.
Although I like the concept of stockings, there are several ways to surprise you. If there is no stocking on the fireplace (you may not have a mantle), you can wrap the keys in a box to place under the tree, take a drive out and drive past. house with a giant red bow on the front door, or maybe get a painting of the house, or even have a miniature replica built.
In fact, finding the keys to any of these properties any morning of the year would be pretty amazing.

The thoughtful interior design allows for water views from most rooms, and the screened porch (everyone’s favorite) has all the smart home features you can imagine – creating the ultimate alfresco dining experience . The house is under construction, giving you the option to customize the saltwater pool and pool area. Bring all your water toys and maybe paddle out to Land Bank Ocean Beach. While the neighborhood offers a rural setting, the property is only 5 miles from the village of Edgartown.
Another outstanding waterfront home, this one on Jane’s Cove, can be found in Boldwater at 13 Boldwater Road.
